Best Ways to Get Through Exam Week
The dreaded exam block is about to begin, Kaitlin McNamara and Courtney Quast, offer some helpful hints to surviving your final exams.
- Study with friends
‘Two heads are better than one’ – studying with a friend or in a study group allows you to bounce ideas, motivate one another and challenge each other. Study with a friend makes a usually boring task more fun and rewarding.
- Make a schedule
Schedule are a handy tool to keep yourself on track and ensure you have plenty of time to study, rest and sit your exams. A well organised schedule allows you to structure your weeks to maximise productivity.
- Take breaks
Regular breaks are a healthy way to allow your brain to rest and retain more while studying. We are all at risk of burning out, so schedule some time out to walk the dog, go the gym or grab a coffee with a friend.
- Stay organised
Check the date, time and location of your exam in advance, but also be sure to double check the night before your exam. This will allow you too adequately prepare for your exams and ensure there is no last minute cramming.
- SLEEP!
Sleep deprivation doesn’t help anyone let alone students preparing and sitting exams. Without a sufficient amount of sleep, all that time spent studying can be counter productive. So make sure you catch some Zzzzzz!
