Top 5 Must Do’s Over O-Week – Gold Coast Campus
The start of a new uni year is a super exciting time, especially if it’s your first year. O-Week is the perfect way to ease into uni and celebrate the start of the trimester. With so much going on, we thought we would share our top 5 must-do’s over O-Week.
Firstly, follow your hosts, GUGC Student Guild on Facebook for all O-Week 2017 details including parties, pool fun, stalls, campus tours, club sign-on and more.
1. Dive-in movie
When: Monday 20th February – 7pm
Where: Pool G45
Take advantage of the new pool and come along to the dive-in movies. Bring your swimmers and inflatables or lounge on the deck in a comfy beanbag and watch Deadpool on the big-screen.
2. Attend your course welcome and introduction session
When: Monday 20th – Friday 24th
Where: Various locations
It is important to attend your course introductions to find out key information, meet new friends and get a feel for uni life. There is nothing worse then being lost and a Larry Loner on your first day, so avoid that stress and come along to your course introduction sessions.
3. O-Week Splash
When: Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd February – 10am
Where: Pool G45
Bring out your bathers and your pool toys for Griffith University’s first O-Week Splash Pool Party. Enjoy the poolside DJ, games, snow cones and more. Entry is free.
4. Beach Party
When: Friday 24th Feburary – 7pm
Where: Uni Bar G07
Cost: $5 (Tickets available Monday 20th at Student Guild)
Round out your O-Week by attending the Annual Beach Party. Come dressed in your best Hawaiian shirt or beach themed attired and celebrate the start of a new uni year with your friends. This is an 18+ event.
5. Welcome bag and freebies
When: Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd February – 10am
Where: G07
Collecting your O-Week bags and freebies is an O-Week must do regardless of your year of study. Whilst collecting your bag, check out the corporate stalls to sign up for memberships and discounts at local businesses.
There is so much happening across the Gold Coast Campus over O-Week. Make sure you check out the Itinerary Builder on the Griffith website and plan your O-Week.
