How To Access Griffith Uni’s Great Student Support Services
As thousands of students flock to campus to begin Trimester 1 2017, Griffith will be welcoming new students from all across Australia and abroad. To help ease into uni Student Services offer professional, academic and personal assistance at no cost to students. While you might not require any of them now, at least you’ll know exactly where to find them when you need some help in the future.
The services offered include:
Health, Counselling and Wellbeing
The place to go for all of your health needs. Student Services offers a full medical service for all students, including doctor’s check-ups, vaccinations, pathology and more. The counselling service is also available to assist with your mental health during your time at university.
Welfare and Financial Assistance
Offering everything from interest-free loans, bursaries, scholarships, budgeting, tenancy help, Centrelink advice and even a second-hand textbook exchange, the student welfare and financial assistance service can help you out all year round.
Diversity and Inclusion
Griffith University is working hard to remove barriers and improve access to university for everyone. The service offer’s assistance to people from a diverse range of backgrounds with targeted programs that aim to assist with the transition to university life; including mentoring, workshops and online resources.
Faith and Spirituality
Griffith has an experienced chaplain located on each and every campus to provide pastoral care and the opportunity to explore all questions of faith and existence. The faith and spirituality service can also help you out with on campus prayer rooms and information regarding all local religious communities.
Careers and Employment
Griffith will help you get job ready from the moment you enrol. The Careers and Employment service can help you with future planning and direction, resume building, workshops and industry mentor opportunities. They also have a job board to help you find work while you’re studying.
Griffith University Library
The library is much more than just a place to study and borrow textbooks. They also have an extensive range of on-campus and online workshops including referencing, finding your study style, tips for tackling readings, research and assignment help.
