Top 5 rainy day hideaways: Gold Coast campus

As the rain sets in this week, we thought we would put together a list of places where we like to hangout on campus when the weather turns sour. Check out our top 5 on-campus rainy day hideaways.

1. True North

LOCATION: G42

If you enjoy spending rainy days nestled in a cosy corner, sipping coffee and watching the rain fall then I have the perfect place for you. True North located in the business building is the perfect spot to escape the miserable weather, catch up with friends, or do some of those readings you have been putting off.

2. The quiet space in the library

LOCATION: G11

Since it’s raining, it might be the perfect time to work on some of those upcoming assignments and exams. The quiet space upstairs in the library offers lots of tables to spread out, comfy beanbags to sit and relax in and a plethora of books and resources if you are looking for a little inspiration.

3. Guzman Y Gomez

LOCATION: G07

Open Hours: Mon – Fri 9am-8pm

Sat – Sun 11am-2pm

All this gloomy weather will probably make you hungry. If you are looking for something warm and yummy on a cold rainy day GYG is your go to. Get out of the rain and enjoy a delicious burrito or burrito bowl, some tasty nachos or a hearty enchilada.

4. The study lounge in G42

LOCATION: G42

If you are looking for a quiet spot to escape the rain between classes then the study lounge located in the business building might be the place for you. This study area offers computers, round tables for group work and is conveniently located above a café. What more could you want?

5. Café Rossa

LOCATION: G07

Open hours:   Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm

Great coffee, friendly staff and a warm, inviting atmosphere is exactly what you want on a rainy day. Café Rossa has all of these in spades! They also have a great menu, which includes delicious pizza and pasta and a selection of treats from their front counter. Check it out!!
