6 Tips: How to make the most of your mid-semester break!
Can you believe we’re done with Week 6 already?! Time is flying, and before you know it, you’ll be studying for your end of semester exams. Thankfully, we get to have a little break in between! Now it might be tempting to just binge on food and watch Netflix in bed, but here’s how you can actually be productive this break:
- Get organised
If you’re at university and you don’t have a planner, you’re doing it all wrong! Get yourself a planner or a calendar and write all of your important dates on it. Assignments, social events, exams, anything you can think of! This will make your life so much easier as you’ll know what is due ahead of time, and therefore be prepared for it! Dare I say it; your grades will go up too!
- Prepare your meals and exercise
If you’re like me and you’re always telling yourself you can’t work out because you’re tired and had a long day of class, now is the time to cut the excuses! Exercise! Whether you like to go running by the beach or going to the gym, now is the time to put it into action. Make a workout plan, and adjust it to your timetable, so you never have to skip a workout again.
Also, try to meal prep! Meal prepping sounds tedious but trust me when I tell you your wallet will thank you!
- Catch up on lectures and assignments
We’ve all skipped a lecture or two, and we’ve all pretended they didn’t happen so we don’t have to sit in front of a laptop for two hours listening to them. Well, we have the time now. Go over your lectures and make your notes so you’re familiar with the content of the course.
See if you can get a head start on any assignments or exams you have due. I personally am very guilty of procrastinating, but I do find that when I start ahead of time, I am more relaxed and confident in the work that I am submitting. It’s about time we get rid of that habit!
- Spring clean early
I know it’s autumn here in Australia, but now is the perfect time to spring clean! Go through your clothes and donate what you don’t need. Re-arrange your closet, clean up your kitchen and dust off your couches. It’s very therapeutic and it will feel very rewarding when your place is all nice and tidy.
- Sleep!
This is self-explanatory really. Use this break to catch up on some much needed sleep!
- Finally, have fun!
Go out, meet friends, practice your hobbies, watch a movie and relax! It’s a break, so use it well!
Enjoy your break! 🙂
